**The Role**
As the APS4 Support to Operations Administration Officer you will deliver wide ranging administrative support to deploy scientists on military exercises and operations both domestically and internationally. The role may include any or all of the following tasks:

- Provision of administrative support to a range of scientific personnel at all levels who are selected to deploy
- Meeting organisation
- Secretariat support
- Assisting with documentation
- Deployment related travel
- Being a Point of Contact (POC) for facilities and compliance including coordinating upgrade and remediation works to key supporting infrastructure
- Escorting contractors for maintenance and facility related issues
- Provide assistance, advice and support for Simple Procurement activities
- Provision of administrative support to courses/workshops on an ad hoc basis as required

This role requires significant liaison across Defence and has a varied work tempo depending on the level of activity within Defence exercises and operations at any given time.

**About our Team**
The Support to Operations team sits within Land and Joint Warfare (LJW) Division of Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG). Land and Joint Warfare Division delivers the innovation, science and technology programs in support of the Land and Joint domains. The Division is responsible for:

- S&T Coordination
- Integrated Forces
- Electronic Warfare
- Land Combat Vehicle Innovation
- Enabled soldier
- Long Range Precision Fire The Division also supports the following STaR Shots:

- Operating in CBRN Environments
- Disruptive Weapons Effects

LJW intends to build the Support to Operations capability over the coming 12 months and this role will work in conjunction the APS5 to provide the high quality administrative support required to enable a critical element of DSTG’s capability input to Defence’s operational outputs.

You will be based at DSTG Edinburgh, South Australia but will support scientists deploying from across the entire DSTG organisation. The Support to Operations will soon have staff based in both Canberra and DSTG Edinburgh.

You should be an excellent communicator with strong written and verbal skills and a well-honed ability to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Your organisation skills will be first class and co-ordination will be one of your key strengths.

You should be flexible and comfortable with change, keen to develop new processes and be solutions driven. Initially you will work with one other team member with a planned increase in team size over the coming 12 months. You should work well as part of a team and have the ability to prioritise and self-manage tasks.
