As part of the Web Services and Design section, you will join a team that is responsible for publishing information on the Veterans’ Affairs portfolio intranet and Internet sites. Your role will be varied and dictated by the various projects that the department is involved in, but a major part of your role will involve liaising with internal clients to help them with their requests for publishing on the Internet and intranet.
We are a fast-paced team who manage multiple jobs and tight deadlines.

**Duties**

In accordance with the principles of workplace diversity, Work Health and Safety, participative work practices, APS values and APS Employment Principles:
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

- Update the departmental intranet and Internet sites as directed, using a variety of tools and technology including Drupal, Microsoft SharePoint, HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Photoshop, Acrobat Pro and the MS Office suite.
- Liaise with internal clients to make changes and develop their online content for the intranet and various Internet sites.
- Follow departmental, government and industry best-practices for publishing.
- Under direction of senior team members, be able to write for the web and interpret complex technical information.
- Work with team members to further develop the departmental intranet and Internet using SharePoint and Drupal.
- Administrative tasks as directed.
- Other duties as directed.

**Desirable**

Qualifications in information technology or a related field with experience in web publishing would be an advantage.

**Notes**

This recruitment process is being used to fill an ongoing or non-ongoing position.

A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.

Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for a specified term of up to 18 months. A specified term may be extended up to a maximum period of 3 years.
