This large government department is in Central Canberra. The department has a focus on developing policies and procedures to enhance Australia. Specializing in world class research, analysis and advice to inform strategic policy and decision making.

Your new role
Your new role as a Program/Policy Officer will have you engaging with relevant stakeholders and providing context-relevant program and policy design and advice. Your day to day duties include:

- Contributing to program development, program policy design and implementation
- Contributing to drafting of high-quality program policy, planning and implementation documents and reports including project plans, briefs, Ministerial correspondence, communication plans and communication products, and other procurement and grant related information as needed.
- Developing and managing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Representing the Department at key meetings or on key working groups, as required.
- Project management, grant management and procurement management as needed.
- Supporting or managing one or two staff, if required.
- Other duties as requested.

What you’ll need to succeed

To be successful in this role you will be required to have previous experience with program and/or policy development. Demonstrating a high level of attention to detail and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills while maintaining a strong work ethic and deliver on priorities. You must be an Australian citizen and possess or be willing to go through the process to obtain and maintain a Baseline personnel security clearance.
