**The Role**
Our Mineral Resources Transport division is expanding, and we are seeking Asset Manager to join our Haulage Operations team.
The Asset Manager will be the primary owner of the Management of Assets for Mineral Resources Transport, this includes heavy mobile and road haulage equipment assets including equipment hire management; both internal (AMG) and external hire companies, capital expenditure, disposal, analysis, scheduling, rates and tender support.
You will provide technical input and work as part of the MRL Operational Readiness Team and when required, liaise with site and the Autonomous Team. Provide leadership and direction for the Asset team, encourage safety and teamwork and provide appropriate training for current positions and for future development.
For this position you will be reporting directly to our Continuous Improvement Manager, and you will be based at our HQ office on Osborne Park, and occasionally there will be requirement to travel to project sites.
**Key deliverables**:
- Extensive knowledge of Heavy Road transport, ancillary equipment and operational systems, to provide analytical and technical advice.
- Strong Knowledge of HSEQT legislative requirements.
- Provide Asset Management support for heavy road haulage equipment and ancillary assets for the logistics Teams.
- Accountable for the administration of operational financial impacts and liabilities
- Accountable for direction and compliant processing, dissemination and record keeping.
- Interaction with all stakeholders to assit with compliance and risk assessments
- Research, propose and trial new operational technologies for the Ports, Rail and Haulage space to increase efficiencies through improved safety, operational efficiencies, or cost reductions.
- Provide technical and operational input into new research and development projects. Conduct regular audits on haulage assets to ensure compliance with Mineral Resources standards.
**What you’ll bring to the team**
- Relevant technical qualifications in an Asset Management or Mechanical field, having a sound understanding of heavy Road Transport, SME and ancillary equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills coupled with a sound knowledge and understanding of Asset Management principals and standards.
- Knowledge and understanding of fleet condition and monitoring systems.
- Demonstrated experience in an Asset Management role or similar, with excellent safety awareness and leadership.
- Help employees learn new skills and coach them to develop critical thinking skills to navigate challenging problems.
- Develop relationships with all stakeholders in the haulage chain. Including Mining, Environmental, Safety, Main Roads infrastructure, Local landowners, other road user groups, and First Aid / Emergency service providers.
- Strategic thinker, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to engage with other departments through positive behaviours and initiatives
