**Employment Opportunity**
**Transnational Crime Branch** is responsible for a range of complex transnational crime legislation, strategy and policy. The Branch is responsible for advising and progressing work on transnational, serious and organised crime, and key crime types and enablers, including money laundering, economic crime, illicit drugs and illicit firearms. The Branch works closely with international partners and Commonwealth, state and territory agencies and law enforcement to deliver this work.
Key priorities include delivering and implementing the major reforms to Australia's anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing regime and coordinating the whole-of-nation effort to prepare for the Financial Action Task Force's evaluation of Australia's regime in 2026.
**High Tech Crime Branch** is responsible for the Commonwealth cybercrime and child abuse offence framework, and the Commonwealth electronic surveillance framework which supports Commonwealth, state and territory police forces, crime commissions and anti-corruption agencies, as well as the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation, to investigate serious crime and threats to security. The Branch works closely with a range of Commonwealth, state, territory and international partners, including industry, to deliver this work.
Key priorities include delivering comprehensive reforms to the electronic surveillance framework, delivering holistic reviews of the Commonwealth cybercrime and child abuse offence frameworks, supporting the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade to manage Australia's accession to the UN Cybercrime convention, and continuing to support Commonwealth, state and territory agencies, and industry, to operate within the electronic surveillance framework.
