**About the branch**
The Finance Property and Procurement Branch provide critical services for the agency and the AIC. The Branch requires a wide variety of skills and experience in order to provide the following functions:
- Budget management and reporting e.g. input to portfolio budget statements, management reporting
- Financial reporting e.g. monthly and annual financial statements
- Financial operations e.g. accounts payable and receivable, cash management
- Taxation, travel and credit card services
- Business support e.g. fleet, mail, stationery, office services
- National property projects e.g. fitouts, relocations
- Procurement services
- Language services (linguists)
**About the role**
The Assistant Director Internal Budgets will manage a team of professionals who are responsible for administering the two agencies’ external budget process, resource allocation process, providing quality management reports and sound financial advice to the ACIC.
The role is also responsible for supporting the Director, Budgets & Finance Systems and the National Manager, Finance, Property & Procurement (the Chief Finance Officer). The Assistant Director will need to be able to assist with both the internal and external budget process as required.
- Has demonstrated experience in government budgeting processes, including preparing, presenting and advising on budgeting and financial modelling.
- Will have experience in preparing financial reports and commentary tailored to the Senior Executive Service.
- Has demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills including the ability to provide support and direction to a small team.
- Possesses liaison, interpersonal and negotiation skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders through strong verbal and written communication skills.
**Essential qualifications**
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, business or commerce from a recognised tertiary institution.
- Current membership of CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand, or working towards achieving this.
