The Assistant Director National Criminal Intelligence System (NCIS) Stakeholder Engagement role will lead the coordination of stakeholder engagement activities for the NCIS capability. This role builds and maintains strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders across Commonwealth, State and Territory levels, driving collaborative outcomes to achieve ACIC strategic objectives.

As the Assistant Director Stakeholder Engagement, you will be accountable for leading a small team and providing strategic oversight of stakeholder engagement initiatives.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities across the NCIS Operating Model;
- Develop, implement and maintain a Stakeholder Engagement Strategy and Plan;
- Identify and engage with key stakeholders, managing issues and risks;
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders through positive engagement opportunities;
- Gather information, identify best practices, and leverage resources to inform engagement approaches;
- Monitoring and report on stakeholder engagement activities, assessing impact and effectiveness against the strategy and plan;
- Approve the development of NCIS communication products and services;
- Conduct periodic reviews of the effectiveness of NCIS governance arrangements

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following experience, skills and attributes:

- Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders and clients, including high-level proficiency in liaison, collaboration and negotiation with jurisdictional, remotely located or dispersed stakeholders;
- Considerable experience in the preparation of written material, within a government context, for external stakeholders and Executive personnel;
- Experience in a program or agency governance role including well developed skills in briefing and communicating with senior executives;
- Proven people management skills with a demonstrated ability to motivate, develop and coordinate teams and individuals across a multi-disciplinary business, data and technology driven environment.

**Eligibility**
- **Citizenship**- To be eligible for employment with the ACIC, applicants must be an Australian citizen.
- ** Security Clearance** - The Australian community expects ACIC employees to maintain the highest levels of security and integrity. Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
