**Flexible Work**

At PM&C we recognise the broad benefits of offering flexibility in how, when and where work is performed. We consider flexibility first from a starting position of ‘how can we make this work?’ and consider individual circumstances and operational requirements in making genuine attempts to establish mutually beneficial arrangements. Please reach out to the contact officer if you would like to explore what flexibility might look like for you, such as part time work, variable start and finish times or working from home.

**Who we are**

PM&C operates in six main Groups:

- Economy, Industry and Resilience
- International and Security
- Social Policy
- Governance and Corporate
- Office for Women
- Net Zero Economy Agency

**We have director opportunities in Economy, Industry and Resilience and Office for Women.**

**Economic Division**

Economic Division in Economy, Industry and Resilience Group offers fascinating work on issues that matter to the Australian people. Our responsibilities are wide ranging from advising the Prime Minister and government on macro
- and microeconomic policy; housing and competition; taxation, super and workplace relations; fiscal policy and budget processes; and impact analysis. Across these issues, we collaborate with other Commonwealth agencies to analyse and advise on policy and programs, as well as chaperoning Budget and Cabinet processes and the legislative and Parliamentary activities of our line agencies. The Division consists of five Branches - we are seeking talented and motivated Executive Leaders at the EL2 level, to lead teams in the Office of Impact Analysis and the Financial Services, Taxation and Workplace Relations Branch.

**Office for Women**

The Office for Women is the central gender equality institution within the APS, responsible for providing quality gender advice and delivering effective policies and programs for the Minister for Women and the Prime Minister. The Office for Women (OFW) works to advance the Government’s core commitment to achieve gender equality and improve the lives of women in Australia in a tangible way by addressing the priority areas under the Government’s Working for Women: A Strategy for Gender Equality - gender-based violence, unpaid and paid care, economic equality and security, health, and leadership, representation and decision-making. OFW connects purposefully and with credibility across Government, with experts, civil society and business, to ensure that policy is driven by evidence and draws from the lived experience of women. The Division consists of three Branches - we are seeking influential and proactive Director’s/Senior Advisers in Women’s Economic Policy Branch and Gender Based Violence and Social Policy Branch.

**What you will do**

**Director, Office of Impact Analysis, Economic Division**

The Office of Impact Analysis (OIA) is a central part of policymaking in Australia. Officials from the OIA work across government on significant policy proposals to ensure they are accompanied by quality analysis of the potential impacts. The OIA supports agencies to analyse broader economic, social and distributional impacts of new policy proposals or program changes. The OIA works to support the Prime Minister, Cabinet and other decision-makers by ensuring new policies and programs demonstrate a clear evidence base.

As a director in the OIA you will have very wide view of policy development across the APS and be deeply involved in major policy proposals coming forward. Key responsibilities include:

- leading a team to exercise sound judgement in determining when to trigger OIA’s involvement in the development of a proposal, targeting those proposals with the largest impact on the economy and community;
- using strong negotiation and expert policy analysis skills to support agencies to understand and undertake robust impact analysis and provide insights into how to shape and improve the quality of analysis;
- engaging and working productively with departments, agencies and regulators to improve policy design and reduce unintended consequences; and
- representing the OIA with counterparts across Australia and internationally to support Australia’s position as a leader in impact analysis.
