Bethanie Gwelup is seeking a passionate, organised and energetic **Therapy Assistant** to work with our residents as part of the Therapy Team. Bethanie Gwelup is a 112-bed modern aged care home fitted with the latest in modern conveniences and has been designed specifically to create a homely feel for our clients & staff alike.

We are looking for people with a passion for working with people of all abilities and backgrounds. You will have an enthusiastic and creative approach to your work and be able to support our residents’ strengths and interests. If you are experienced in delivering therapy programs to people with dementia, that will be an advantage.

This role is being offered on a **Casual basis** working a variety of shifts from Monday to Sunday.

**About the Role**:

- Implement therapy and lifestyle programs for groups and individual residents including residents living with dementia
- Adapt activities to resident’s level of function under the guidance of a Therapist
- Address physical and psychological needs and provide opportunities for meaningful engagement for residents
- Maintain required records

**About You**:

- Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group Inc.
- Previous experience in an Therapy Assistant role or Certificate 3 or 4 Allied Health Assistant _essential_
- Previous experience working with people living with dementia _desirable_
- Clear communication in both a verbal and written capacity with care recipients, families and team members
- Well-developed literacy and numeracy skills with a strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated skills with technology/devices/computer programs that are intended for therapy benefits (e.g. Microsoft Office, Wii, iPad and apps etc.)
- Current basic First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain one
