Therapy Assistant

We are currently seeking a qualified Therapy Assistant to facilitate therapy and lifestyle programs with our clients in their homes, within the Northern suburbs of Perth. As part of our Therapy Team you will also assist with facilitating group classes at our Retirement Villages located at Gwelup and Menora. You will be required to drive from client to client and therefore it is a requirement of the role that you have a reliable vehicle and full driver’s licence.

An important component of this role is the ability to work autonomously and facilitate individual therapy sessions independently. You will be able to work under the guidance of a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist, while also being confident in using your initiative and creative thinking to ensure sessions run smoothly.

**About You**
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a Therapy Assistant role, ideally in an aged care or other health care environment
- Previous experiences in facilitating group exercise classes
- Ability to communicate clearly in both a verbal and written capacity with care recipients, families and team members
- Well-developed literacy and numeracy skills with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually
- Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group
- Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations (3x covid and annual flu vaccination)
- Valid drivers licence and reliable vehicle

**The Role**
- Implement therapy and lifestyle programs to individual clients
- Provide In home Therapy under direction from the Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist
- Adapt activities to client’s level of function under the guidance of a Therapist
- Address physical and psychological needs and provide opportunities for meaningful engagement for clients living at home.
- Facilitate group exercise classes at our Retirement villages
- Maintain accurate documentation (paper and computer based)
