**The Role**
The ASCA Security Manager is responsible for providing specialist security advice across a range of security functions. This includes security governance, personnel security, physical security and project security. The ASCA Security Manager is the SME on security requirements in ASCA contract negotiations, Innovation, Science and Technology (IS&T) projects and accelerated capability projects.

The EL 1 Security Manager will:

- Build and maintain a security governance framework for ASCA that identifies work efforts across security governance, security operations and ASCA projects and programs.
- Advise on the Defence Security Risk Management process in relation to existing and emerging security matters within ASCA projects.
- Lead and manage the provision of protective security advice to ASCA stakeholders to support the effective implementation of security policies, practices and procedures.
- Collaborate with key security stakeholders in order to raise awareness of security threats through briefings and presentations to ASCA personnel.
- Influence, mentor, and guide team members to work collaboratively to achieve high quality outcomes.
- Build a collaborative security community across Defence that cultivates a common purpose for security practitioners.

**About our Team**
The Business Operations Directorate supports and delivers critical internal functions to efficiently achieve organisational goals. The directorate is responsible for providing business support including complex personnel, physical and project security functions; human resource management and workforce planning; financial management support including budget preparation and financial performance monitoring and reporting, as well as infrastructure and facilities management.
The directorate coordinates these functions with other areas of Defence to support the breadth of its functions. The team is agile and works in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment. The team often faces unique problems and relies on innovative and creative problem solving to meet stakeholder requirements.
