**Who are we looking for?.. At Forward Ability Support **we are looking for an attentive and detail-oriented Accounting Officer to join our expanding finance team.

**What will a day in the life of an Accounting Officer look like?**

As an accounting officer you will be providing timely, accurate and efficient processing of accounts receivable.

**You will complete key responsibilities such as**:

- Process and allocate all cash receipts (cheques, money orders, direct deposits, BPAY and credit card payments) to individual debtors accounts on a daily basis;
- Prepare Bank reconciliations (AR side) on a timely basis (monthly at a minimum);
- Ensure membership records are maintained and up to date.
- Timely preparation and submission of government claims e.g. CAPS, PBS;
- Import, issue, prepare and submit Claims on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basis for Participants and Clients.
- Attend to and resolve Customer account queries, clarifications and complaints.
- Review debtors aged trial balance to identify overdue accounts and follow up overdue debtor balances ensuring customers are within their approved credit limits and debtors ageing is controlled.
- Despatch monthly customer statements and send invoices on request.
- Review and complete Month End Tasks as required and assist as/if needed;
- Assist in any other Finance and administration tasks as required;

**What will you need to join us?**
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting
- Understanding of month end process and profit and loss reports
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Proven ability to analyse and problem solve
- Strong Customer Focus with an ability to liaise with a diverse range of people
- Experience in general Ledger reconciliations
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Numerate with attention to detail
- Good computer skills including an intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel and Word
- NDIS Worker Screening Check or willing obtain one

**Desirable but not essential**
- Previous experience using Exact / SAP ERP Systems
- Experience n Accounts Receivables
- Experience with NDIS Accounts
