You’ll be able to work close to home in a dynamic setting featuring cafes and retail options set amongst heritage buildings and open green spaces. **The Opportunity** With unprecedented growth in the municipality, Melton has committed significant investment in the construction of new building assets utilised to deliver Councils’ services to the Community as well as those from third party and other providers. In addition, significant renewal and minor upgrade works are being carried out or planned for Council’s existing portfolio of Building and allied Structure assets. This role provides an opportunity to lead the ongoing development and growth of the infrastructure services program tasked with the responsibility to deliver minor capital projects, establish and maintain process, procedures, support and oversight of Councils facility infrastructure build quality. In addition, review industry research and advice on best practice-built environment quality standards and project delivery success. The position reports to the Property Services Coordinator working as part of the Operations Service Unit under the Planning and Development directorate. **Key Responsibilities** - Lead the creation, implementation and maintenance of a collaborative model for accessing and assuring construction quality. - Provide and facilitate advice, process, tools, direction and approval to ensure Community access to high quality-built facility infrastructure. - Conduct review and analysis of local and industry wide trends, to contribute to a body of knowledge of best practice design and material palettes relating to quality standards for construction and component performance. - Implement processes with supporting procedures and tools to review and improve the build quality of Council's Built form facility infrastructure. - Supervise, assist and support Project officers in the successful delivery of minor capital projects. - Contribute to, and assist with the development of 5 and 10 year Building Component renewal planning. **About you** **_To be successful in this role you will have the following:_** - Tertiary qualification at degree or diploma level with several years of relevant work experience in Project Management with either Facility Management, Building design, Facility maintenance or other allied field commensurate with the requirements of the role. - Ability to capture and analyse data, reports and research to identify salient issues and trends, with particular understanding and experience with Council service delivery from built form infrastructure. - Understanding and ability to implement and manage the performance development of the program staff, including contributing to developing requirements and planning for long term staffing strategies of the Service. - Ability to motivate and develop program staff and establish an environment that motivates and supports colleagues and associates to achieve high levels of performance in the pursuit of specific and set objectives. - Experience with regular oversight of financial performance, monitoring and adherence to expenditure targets for minor capital works and component renewal projects. **Culture and Values** Our vision for our community is to be: "A vibrant, safe and liveable city accessible to all" and that means there’s a place here for you too.
