You will work with a passionate team (reporting to the Team Leader, Community Participation and Connection) that activates Council-managed Mens Sheds and Neighbourhood Houses. You will be a proactive and self-motivated person with demonstrated understanding of mens health and wellbeing, skills and knowledge in ensuring a safe environment for Sheds programs and providing leadership to the volunteers managing the day to day operations of the Sheds. Council currently manages the Mens Sheds over two locations (Melton and Taylors Hill), this position will be working across both Sheds. **Key Responsibilities** - Support the team to manage activation of community centres and have a coordinated presence at Council Neighbourhood Houses and Men’s Sheds to build community capacity to plan, implement, and evaluate a suite of programs and activities that respond to the identified needs of the local community. - Activate Council-managed Neighbourhood Houses and Men’s Sheds through the facilitation of community initiated and driven opportunities for residents to develop responses and solutions to locally important needs and issues. - Provide direction and support to contract tutors, community volunteers, and other stakeholders recreating and working within Council’s Neighbourhood Houses and Men’s Sheds. Under the direction of the Team Leader, work to ensure the safety and maintenance of Council facilities in collaboration with relevant internal teams. - Exhibit a strong dedication to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) accountability by adhering to pertinent OHS regulations, policies and procedures, actively fostering a secure work environment, and proactively mitigating potential workplace risks.
