Infrastructure Project Officer

**Full Time Permanent Position**

**Salary Range $86,169 - $93,835 per annum + 10.5% Super + RDO**

**The Opportunity**

With unprecedented growth in the region, Melton has committed significant investment in the construction of new building assets along with best practice maintenance and renewal of its existing portfolio of buildings and facilities, these are utilised to deliver a number of Councils’ services to the Community as well as those from third party and other providers.

This role provides an opportunity to work with the Infrastructure services team tasked with planning and delivery of minor capital works projects including building component renewals, minor refurbishments, upgrades and assisting with the planning of cyclic maintenance work such as painting and other décor renewal programs. The position reports to the Program Leader Property Infrastructure Services working as part of the Operations Service Unit under the Planning and Development directorate.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Using Council's Project Management Framework, manage the successful delivery of programmed and other minor capital works projects.
- Manage the delivery of assigned works projects and support the program leader in providing input to reviews of current and planning for future programs.
- Contribute to the development and continual improvement of project management systems, quality standards, processes and standardised templates.
- Procure the services of Trade and Service contractors to undertake works in accordance with Council’s procurement policy and purchasing procedures.
- Monitor and report on Contractor performance, participate in the development, implementation and auditing practices to ensure compliance with OHS, Risk and Asset management and project delivery objectives.

**About you**

**_ To be successful in this role you will have the following:_**
- Tertiary qualification with some relevant experience in Project Management, Building construction, maintenance, or allied Engineering or other specialist discipline; or Lessor qualification/s with substantial relevant experience in Project Management, Building construction, maintenance, or other specialist discipline.
- Experience working in a multi-disciplined team to achieve set objectives, specifically in the fields of project related activities such as management, construction, maintenance requirements and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with project planning, implementation and management of project activity at those sites that continue to deliver critical Council services to the Community.
- Specialist understanding of the principles and practices of a wide variety of building construction techniques, componentry, functionality and maintenance tasks.
- Current valid Victorian drivers licence.
