**The Role**
An APS 4 - 5 Business Operations Support officer will be accountable for organising their workflow and making independent decisions relating to procurement, processing accounts payable and addressing general enquiries in a timely manner. They will interpret and provide administrative advice within the business support function based on legislation, policy and procedures. They will undertake specialist procurement analysis, conduct assessments and perform procedural accounts payable work to achieve results.
The APS 4 - 5 Business Operations Support Officer will contribute to the work of the team and provide advice and assistance on methods of task completion to CIOG members. They are expected to coach CIOG members to ensure procedure is followed and be accountable to set work priorities, complete allocated work, and manage workflows and performance.
The APS 4 - 5 Business Operations Support Officer will be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on procurement issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
**About our Team**
Our team looks after the preparation and administration of market approaches, including:
- Sourcing strategy/ industry engagement.
- Preparation of RFQ documentation.
- Use appropriate panels and other WOG arrangements.
- Respond to clarification questions.
- Tender evaluations.
- Contract negotiations and awards.
You will need to be Canberra based and available for full time employment as well as:
- Display a proven background working with Procurement, ROMAN, MiFi, Section 23 approvals, Objective and register maintenance.
- You will need excellent written and verbal communications skills. You must be able to explain complex ideas succinctly in plain English.
- You must have excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to build constructive professional relationships with senior stakeholders outside your immediate work area, vendors and colleagues.
- You should have experience with procurement regulation and associated legislation and requirements.
- You will have skills and experience in Government Procurement, Contracting and Financial Management.
- You will be able to manage and respond to tasking in the time frames assigned.
