**About the role**

The Child Safety Coordinator provides support and advice to the organisation on all matters relating to Child Safety. The role builds the capability of leaders, so that the Belgravia Child Safety management system is effectively embedded in all work areas.

This role is responsible for ensuring a high level of compliance to child safety principles and legislation, while maintaining Belgravia policies and child safety code of conduct. With a focus on embedding a child safe culture throughout the organisation, this role is pivotal to supporting the business to ensure a safe environment for all children and promoting child safety awareness and management within the industry.

ESSENTIAL:

- A commitment to drive a culture of safety excellence
- Bachelor degree in social work, behavioural science human services or similar
- Sound knowledge and understanding of AU/NZ Child safety legislation, codes of practice and other requirements
- Proven ability in developing Child Safety strategies, policies and procedures
- Experienced with internal audits
- Attention to detail and experience producing safety reporting
- Proven experience providing effective Child Safety procedures within a large multi-site organisation
- Ability to communicate with all levels in the organisation particularly site-based staff

**QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Working with Children Check (or Equivalent)
- National Police Check
