**About the Department of Molecular Imaging & Therapy (MIT)**

The MIT department at Austin Health is the largest in Australia and has three Positron Emission Tomography (PET) cameras, one of which is dedicated to brain research. It is active in the development of new scans for the early diagnosis of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. The Neuroscience Molecular Imaging Research Team is currently studying areas that include beta-amyloid imaging in aging and dementia and dopaminergic neuronal imaging in Parkinson’s disease. The group has active collaborations with the University of Melbourne, Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health, CSIRO, and other European and US based companies.

**About the role**

As the Administration Officer, you will work collaboratively with a supportive team of professionals, who are passionate about providing best practice care for patients. You will provide administrative support to the Director of Molecular Imaging Research, the research manager, senior scientific staff, and research nurses in all issues relating to the Neuroscience PET Research program.

You’ll join a friendly and supportive team who genuinely enjoy their work and the contribution they make.

A regular day will see you:

- Schedule PET scan bookings for research participants
- Ensure the weekly research PET schedule is accurate
- Create scan bags for the research participants on a weekly basis for upcoming PET scans
- Liaise with and provide assistance to the Neuroscience Molecular Imaging Research Team and work closely with the research nurses on issues relating to research operations and notify relevant staff of any scheduling changes
- Take minutes during weekly team meeting and distribute minutes to members of the research team
- Manage the monthly and quarterly invoicing for the Neuroscience PET Research program agreements.

**About you**
- You will be someone who has excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to you work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
You’ll further have:

- Previous administration experience (research or clerical)
- Experience with accounts receivable/payable
- Well-developed organisational skills with an ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize delegated tasks.
- Work well under pressure to meet deadlines and requirements.
- Intermediate computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
