**Your next career opportunity**
You will have the opportunity to conduct impactful research exploring the effects of voluntary forest and chain of custody certification on sustainable practices across Australia's forestry sector. Working collaboratively with certification schemes, industry partners, and stakeholders, you'll investigate certification implementation and impacts on sustainable forest management practices while exploring driving factors, consumer perceptions, and reputational impacts.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- **Conduct Comprehensive Research**: Undertake surveys, interviews, and analysis of certification documentation to identify implemented practices for achieving certification and the impact this has had on forest management practices.
- **Investigate Driving Factors and Impacts**: Determine motivations for pursuing certification, evaluate consumer understanding, and assess certification's influence on organisational reputation and practices.
- **Foster Collaborative Partnerships**: Engage with certification schemes, professional bodies, industry partners, and stakeholders to establish research objectives and foster collaborative relationships.
- **Contribute to Academic Excellence**: Publish findings, present at conferences/forums, and assist in supervising and training students.

**You may be a great fit if**:
You possess a strong aptitude for independent research, with a proven publication record commensurate with your experience and opportunities.

**You may also**:

- Hold a PhD in Environmental Social Sciences, Forest Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Have experience working effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve research objectives.
- Possess excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in English.
- Exhibit the ability to work cooperatively in a multi-disciplinary research team environment.
- Demonstrate strong organisational skills to meet deadlines and complete projects.
- Can develop, administer, and complete research projects with limited supervision.

The School of Agriculture, Food and Ecosystem Sciences (SAFES) has a vision of science for flourishing environments and communities.
