We're seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to join our Transformation Team within the Reform and Innovation Branch in the Aboriginal Affairs NSW group. In this pivotal role, the **Principal Project Officer** will be at the forefront of shaping and implementing initiatives that support the NSW government's commitments to Aboriginal and Economic Prosperity as part of the Closing the Gap commitment. Leading a dedicated team, you'll spearhead the development, implementation, and delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects and policy initiatives aimed at achieving tangible Aboriginal economic outcomes aligned with Closing the Gap objectives.

Your role as the **Principal Project Officer**will be multifaceted and impactful. You'll lead your team in developing reform initiatives and strategies, you will work in partnership with Aboriginal partners, deliver events for Aboriginal Businesses and ensure the success of the first Aboriginal Business Ministerial Taskforce. From overseeing all aspects of project management, including preparing business cases, developing strategies and initiatives, to representing the Department's position at various forums and providing expert advice to stakeholders, you'll be instrumental in driving forward Aboriginal Economic growth and prosperity in NSW.

- ** Leadership**:Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team towards achieving project objectives.
- ** Project Management**: Excellent project management abilities, including strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on achieving project outcomes.
- ** Stakeholder Engagement**:Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and negotiation, including representing organisational positions at various levels.
- ** Deliver Results**: Ability to critically analyse complex policy issues and provide sound recommendations to support decision-making.
- ** Business Development**:Experience in business development or economic policy is desirable, particularly in identifying opportunities and supporting growth initiatives.
- ** Commitment to Customer Service**: Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity to issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
