About the Team

Reform and Innovation work in genuine partnership with Aboriginal peoples and communities to shape policies and reforms that reflect their needs and aspirations. The branch plays a key role in delivering the NSW Government's commitments under Closing the Gap and advancing Aboriginal land and cultural heritage reform. About the Role

The Senior Project Officer leads the design and execution of policy and program initiatives that drive a transformational data reform project across NSW Government to deliver shared access to government-held data and Aboriginal Data Sovereignty and Governance, ensuring alignment with Aboriginal community priorities and supporting NSW Government commitments under the National Agreement on Closing the Gap Priority Reform 4.

We're Looking For

  • Project Management: You have demonstrated experience in project management, including developing project plans, coordinating resources, managing budgets and meeting reporting requirements.
  • Consultation & Communication: You confidently lead consultation processes to support effective engagement and informed decision-making.
  • Commitment to Reform & Cultural Competency Demonstrated experience working within reform frameworks, a strong understanding of Aboriginal affairs, data sovereignty, and inclusive governance.
  • Strategic Leadership & Team Development Ability to assume senior responsibility within a team, lead initiatives aligned with NSW Government priorities, and mentor team members to deliver complex reform projects.
