The Department of Home Affairs is responsible for centrally coordinated strategy and policy leadership in relation to domestic national security arrangements, law enforcement, emergency management, counter-terrorism, social cohesion, the protection of our sovereignty, the integrity of our border and the resilience of our national infrastructure.
The Australian Border Force, an operationally independent body within the Department of Home Affairs, is Australia's frontline border law enforcement agency and Australia's customs service. The Australian Border Force's mission is to protect Australia's border and facilitate the legitimate movement of people and goods across it.
**Overview of the Branch and Section**:
The Section oversees governance and compliance arrangements for the Identity Matching Services (IDMS). The Section is responsible for facilitating engagement with participants’ access to the IDMS across Government and the private sector. This engagement includes:
- Onboarding and ongoing support for Document Verification Service (DVS) stakeholders
- Onboarding of Face Matching Service (FMS) Data Holding Agencies and Requesting Agencies
- Management of Hosting Agreements, Participation Agreements and Participant Access Arrangements, and
- Governance and compliance arrangements for the IDMS, including risk management, business continuity planning, data breach response planning, secretariat functions and compliance with the privacy, security and other requirements for use of the IDMS.
This Section also manages Commonwealth engagement and arrangements with IDCARE, to ensure Australian victims of identity, scams and cyber-crimes have the specialist support they need to recover from and minimise the impact of these incidents.
**About the role**:
This position sits in the team delivering day-to-day FMS, stakeholder management and relevant governance arrangements.
The team manages the FMS including all relevant governance arrangements such as the audit and compliance program. The team provides leadership in supporting relevant policy development and has strong engagement with stakeholders.
The successful applicant will support the Program Manager and Section leadership.
**Specific duties/responsibilities**:
- Undertake all FMS support activities including:
- Service and connection enquiries
- Stakeholder engagement including correspondence management
- Resolving compliance issues with Users
- Contract and procurement
- Secretariat functions
- Support the development and establishment of FMS agreements
- Implement FMS audit and compliance activities
- Undertake projects and adhoc tasks as requested.
