**The Role**

You will undertake post firing data analysis, processing and report generation and identify and develop new data capture methodologies and visualisation capabilities.

Responsibilities working with the Discipline Leader Propulsion Technology Integration and Assessment and the Capability Manager of the Rocket Motor Test Facility:

- Ensure state of the art data acquisition and control systems are implemented to facilitate static rocket motor testing by DSTG.
- Develop post firing data processing techniques and prepare reports for clients communicating test outcomes.
- Undertake industry engagement and outreach to emerging rocket motor test facilities in to ensure interoperability, suitability, and sustainability of future capabilities.
- Design and develop new data capture methodologies and visualisation capabilities.

**About our Team**
Your role will be an integral part of the Propulsion Technology Integration and Assessment (PTIA) Discipline within Missile and Space Propulsion (MSP) Group and is part of Sensors and Effectors Division in DSTG. MSP Group conducts research and provides advice on weapon propulsion technologies to enhance Defence capability.

The Group maintains expertise in areas of weapon propulsion systems and technology, gun and rocket propellants and rocket motor surveillance and lifting. The Rocket Motor Test Capability represents a strategic asset for Defence as it provides an ability to ensure the safety and suitability for service of the ADF’s guided weapons inventory and also enables demonstration of DSTG led advanced propulsion systems for future weapon concepts.

We are looking for a motivated team player, able to understand the broad strategic context, have sound stakeholder engagement skills together with strong scientific research, engineering or technical experience.

To success in this role, as a Senior Technologist/Technician you must be able to demonstrate the following:

- Have experience in operating scientific software for the capture, analysis and reporting of test data.
- Excellent ability to build and nurture stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrate ability to understand a technical problem, develop and implement a solution with available resources.
