**4 month contract - Local Council - Northern suburbs**:

- **Hybrid work model with flexibility available**:
This local government authority, based in the inner Northern suburbs are seeking a Communications Officer within the wiser Communications to join their team on a temporary basis. Reporting to the Communications Manager, this role will provide general support to the communications team during this busy period across a variety of activities but particularly focused on social media.

**Main responsibilities will include**:

- Create content for a range of platforms and writing articles for social media platforms
- Develop and implement a strategy to guide Council’s use of communications into the future
- Write content for newsletters and internal platforms
- Manage content on Council’s corporate website, intranet and social media channels, providing accurate, timely and engaging online information
- Develop engaging, informative and message driven video content for use online, that directly link to Council’s strategic direction
- Engage with stakeholders across the Council regarding queries or requests they have, providing best practice advice
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in communications, marketing or journalism
- strong written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated experience across projects, managing deadlines and workload
- High level of organisation skills and ability to prioritise
