**ABOUT OUR CLIENT AND THE ROLE**
Our client is one of Australia's leading storage providers, backed by a highly successful private equity firm.
As Transport Manager, you will lead and manage the fleet, team members and
subcontractors for all sites in a compliant, profitable, and innovative manner focusing on delivery of superior customer service while complying with all WHS requirements.
**KEY RESPONSIBILTIES**
- Be responsible for training, developing, and mentoring a team whilst driving safety, service, and cost to achieve and exceed operational
- and financial metrics;
- Analyse equipment and operational tasks to deliver productive outcomes through resource utilization, route optimization and subcontractor management;
- Asset management, adhering to a scheduled maintenance program;
- Develop strategies for growth in operations to reflect future plans and projections;
- Optimise current and negotiate new contracts and commercial agreements with 3PL transport providers;
- Monitor relevant daily and weekly productivity statistics to ensure efficiency via Power BI reporting tool;
- Maintain positive safety culture while driving company standards;
- Ensure all site team members, visitors and contractors comply with all occupational health and safety policies, procedures and operating instructions.
**SKILLS & EXPERTISE**
- Posses at least 5 years’ experience managing people and equipment within a road routing transport operation;
- Certificate IV in warehousing is desirable;
- Knowledge and understanding of Transport Industry, CoR (Fatigue Management, Load planning and Mass Management), Dangerous Goods Awareness and Segregation requirements;
- Demonstrated experience directly managing 3rd party logistics partnerships;
- Experience in Transport Contract management and tender processes;
- Proven excellence in commercial, process improvement and analytical acumen;
- Have a high attention to detail with the ability to improve processes;
- Have strong people management skills and be able to work within a multi-cultural environment and with all levels of organisation;
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and experience with exceptional communication skills.
