Calling all safety officers, we are seeking a new team member to join our client who is in the construction / transport industry based in Carrum Downs Office.

**About the Role**
You will be part of a small team and work closely with all departments to facilitate proactive and functional safety culture, systems and administration of the branches Safety, Compliance and Health and Wellbeing Activities.

**The position**

The Safety Officer is a key role working closely with the Management across sites to to identify hazards, assess risks to health and safety, put appropriate safety controls in place and provide advice about accident prevention and occupational health to management to the entire organisation.

The responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

- Great customer service with prompt resolution to all enquiries
- Incident Investigations / Site inspections
- Lead all safety compliance checks and audits
- Lead Incident management by coordinating and implementing control measures for risk mitigation
- Assist staff safety onboarding training and site inductions
- Coach, guide, and direct employee concerns regarding health & safety in their roles via Supervisors and safety helpdesk
- Assist with Workcover and Return to work
- Safety database maintenance and reporting

**About you**:

- Diploma / Bachelors qualification in Health & Safety or equivalent (preferred)
- Current Driver's License
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Be self managed and driven
- Ability to travel across states when necessary
- Excellent customer service skills and experience
- Well-developed communication skills
- Ability to use initiative and work autonomously
- Team player - always willing to lend a hand

**Salary**: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
