**The role**

As the **Manager Budgetary Governance,**you will play a crucial role in shaping financial strategy and ensuring resources are allocated effectively across the Department and portfolio agencies. You will lead budget planning, monitoring, and reporting, providing expert advice to senior executives while balancing financial transparency with operational needs. With a deep understanding of Treasury policies, you will drive efficiencies, maintain compliance, and keep leadership informed with data-driven insights.

**What you will bring to the role**
- Strong problem-solving abilities to navigate complex financial challenges and develop strategic budget solutions.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, fostering collaboration and alignment across multiple teams and agencies.
- Capable of driving outcomes while ensuring transparency and compliance with Treasury policies and financial regulations.
- Solid time management and organisational skills to handle competing priorities and meet tight reporting deadlines.
- Analytical and strategic thinking to interpret financial data, assess risks, and provide informed recommendations.
- Expert knowledge of government finance frameworks to ensure adherence to Treasury policies and accounting standards.
- Strong attention to detail to maintain accurate financial records and reports in a high-pressure environment.
- Ability to influence and negotiate with senior executives to drive effective budget decisions and resource allocations.

**Key Knowledge and Experience**:

- Significant reporting experience at a parent organisation level, including supporting stakeholder management
- Substantial experience in budget management and planning, and stakeholder engagement within a complex and diverse organisational environment

**Essential requirements**:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications with membership of a recognised professional accounting organisation such as CPA Australia or similar, or eligibility for membership and a commitment to progression accordingly, or extensive relevant experience.
