**The role**
As an interface between Federal, State and Local government in NSW, OLG is a pivotal avenue of interaction, advice and guidance on an effective local government sector.

The Cross Government team, part of the OLG Strategic Reform branch, is responsible for acting as a conduit between the local government sector, the NSW State Government and the Federal Government of Australia on matters of government policy, regulations and priorities.

In this role you'll help drive the Cross Government team’s liaison with councils and other government agencies, providing research, analysis and advice on policy and initiatives that impact the local government sector. You’ll also work closely with key stakeholders to inform future policy development and best-practice in the sector.

You’ll use your research, analytical, and communication skills to inform decision-making and to build and nurture strong cross-government relationships. You’ll often operate with tight deadlines and competing priorities, you’ll navigate complex policy landscapes, and you’ll ensure clarity and direction for key stakeholders on the advice you provide.

**About You**:

- Strong experience in **policy development, research, and project management**:

- **Excellent communication and negotiation skills**, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders
- Ability to analyse emerging issues and **develop practical, evidence-based recommendations**:

- **Strong understanding of government processes**, legislation, and policy frameworks
- A proactive, adaptable approach to **managing multiple priorities** in a fast-paced environment

**What is an essential requirement**:

- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in policy, government operations, or project management
