The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking an Executive Services Manager, to play a critical role at the Metropolitan Remand Centre.

**About the business unit**

Metropolitan Remand Centre (MRC) is a maximum-security remand facility based in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne. Prisoners on remand are alleged offenders who were not bailed when charged with a crime and are awaiting the outcome of their court case.

The Metropolitan Remand Centre is a 954-bed maximum-security facility for unsentenced male offenders located within the West Metropolitan Region, Department of Justice, and Community Safety.

**About the role**

The Executive Services Manager is responsible for the effective delivery of a range of executive and administrative functions within the Metropolitan Remand Centre. The position also provides high-level confidential executive support to the General Manager and the Executive Management Team.

This position will require direct prisoner contact and may involve weekend and public holiday work, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the VPS Determination.

Some of the duties of the role will include;
- Manage the effective delivery of executive and administrative support functions to the Metropolitan Remand Centre, including proving high-level confidential executive support to the General Manager, Metropolitan Remand Centre, and the Executive Management Team.
- Prepare complex and confidential briefing papers, discussion papers, and correspondence on behalf of the General Manager, Metropolitan Remand Centre.
- Support the strategic planning and operational management of the Metropolitan Remand Centre, as a member of the executive management team.
- Build and maintain effective relationships and partnerships across the Metropolitan Remand Centre, ensuring effective communications throughout the prison.
- Provide internal and external liaison on behalf of the General Manager, Metropolitan Remand Centre and coordinate executive team activities.

**About you**
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of executive assistance to senior managers.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Departmental specific software.
