Role Overview:
This is a high-impact Business Development Manager role with a business that sits at the intersection of logistics and consulting. You'll be focused on identifying and securing new opportunities with mid-tier to enterprise clients that have complex supply chain challenges, leading with a strategic, solutions-first approach.
Rather than selling on rates, you'll be partnering with clients to understand their pain points and shaping commercial solutions that genuinely move the needle.
Backed by strong delivery capability, sophisticated tech, and a hands-on leadership team, this role gives you the platform to influence sales direction, shape go-to-market thinking, and play a key role in the next phase of growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build a quality pipeline of opportunities across target sectors
- Identify and secure a mix of quick wins and complex, high-value logistics contracts
- Sell integrated 4PL solutions underpinned by modelling, TMS capability, and hands-on delivery
- Educate the market on a differentiated offering that goes beyond just price
- Partner with internal teams to scope, pitch and deliver solutions that stick
- Track and report on pipeline activity, feeding insights back into strategy
Skills & Attributes:
- Proven business development track record within transport or 4PL
- Familiar with mid-tier to enterprise-level logistics and supply chain environments
- Comfortable working with contract logistics, 3PL/4PL, FMS, or multi-carrier setups
- Strength in generating pipeline, shaping value-led solutions, and closing deals
- Agile, commercially minded and comfortable wearing both strategic and tactical hats
- Able to work autonomously while collaborating closely with a founder-led team
- Highly motivated and self-driven to achieve results
