**The Opportunity**
Reporting to the Head of EHS, the EHS Program Manager will work with the Regional EHS Team to scope and deliver EHS Programs across the Region in support of the Regional EHS strategy. Additionally, this role works with the Global Program Manager to align and cascade global to regional programs.
**What you’ll do**
- Provide technical leadership and guidance on EHS-related continuous improvement Programs aligned with the EHS management system development and implementation
- Assess and manage regulatory compliance across various safety programs and environmental media.
- Perform compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Lead the design and implementation of the EHS management systems and programs
- Conduct training, field coaching, and assessment for EHS performance improvement Programs
- Coach key stakeholders on effective managing EHS related matters
- Manage multiple Programs within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on Program deliverables
- Assess Program feasibility, develop detailed Program plans and communication plan with key stakeholders
- Drive teams across multiple Programs to ensure milestones are met and quality and safety are at the highest possible level
- Partner with cross functional teams (particularly engineering) and engage with global stakeholders to effectively manage and deliver Programs
- Coach other EHS team members to build competency to improve overall program effectiveness
- Work in alignment with the James Hardie Zero Harm pledge and workplace health and safety requirements
**What you’ll bring**
- Seven or more years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience, preferably in manufacturing, or similar heavy industries
- Degree qualified with a major in Workplace Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, physical sciences or engineering
- Sound knowledge of EHS legislation across Australia and New Zealand
- Exposure to and understanding of a broad range of relevant Project and change management methodologies and practices
- Strong understanding of EHS Management Systems, technology and tools; must be proficient in Sharepoint/Microsoft Suite
- Exceptional organization and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and influential leadership that enable effective interaction/communication with management at many levels
- Demonstrated ability to effectively drive change in the workplace
- Experience in Workers Compensation and Claims Management Preferred
- Experience and Interest in Health & Wellbeing Desirable
