**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
- SPORTS ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT
The Sports Administration Assistant is directly responsible to the Sport and Activities Coordinator for daily direction and organisation and will work closely with Head of Operations. Matters concerning conditions of employment shall be directed to the Business Manager.
The primary focus of this role is the provision of effective administration support to the Sport and Activities Coordinator and the Domain Leader Physical Education and Health to assist in all aspects of the College’s Sports, PE, Health, Outdoor Education and recreational programs.
This position is a 12 month trainee position offered in partnership with AFL SportsReady as part of a Certificate 3 in Sport & Recreation.
As a staff member of Our Lady of Mercy College the Sports Administration Assistant is expected to support the College’s Mission and values.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
In supporting the Sports, PE, Outdoor Education and Recreational programs the Sports Administration Assistant’s duties include:
GSV and other inter-school sporting programs
- Assist with the organisation of team lists, bulletin notices, and results
- Assist with the booking of venues, umpires and buses
- Keep records of and assist with the distribution of uniform with the preparation of uniforms
- Prepare sporting equipment and kits for GSV activities and monitor equipment location, cleanliness and need for repair
- Provide assistance to sports coaches in setting up and running training sessions as directed by Sport and Activities Coordinator
- Coach teams as required
- Maintain student records of participation in sports for reports and awards
- Collect epipens for all sporting teams
House Carnivals and Competition within the College
- Attend specific school activities such as sports days and Mercy Day and undertake official duties allocated on these days
- Assist with the borrowing, maintenance and inventory of equipment
- Organise the display and maintenance of all sporting trophies
Physical Education and Outdoor Education
- Assist with the maintenance and inventory of equipment
- Assist Physical Education Staff with the setup, running and clean up of practical classes;
- Attend excursions and camps as negotiated
- Provide a general presence in the gym area to provide assistance with enquiries
Other
- Attend Domain Meetings, Staff Briefings and Staff Meetings where appropriate
- Participate in Curriculum Day activities where relevant
- Assist in the set up of whole school and year level activities
- Assist office staff with reception relief, mail outs and filing as required
- Attend meetings with AFL SportsReady as required
- Complete training as required by AFL SportsReady to complete the Certificate 3 in Sport and Recreation
- Other duties as requested by the Domain Leader and/or Sport and Activities Coordinator

1. Understanding of the Catholic philosophy and ethos of education
2. Demonstrated ability or experience in administration and involvement in sport
3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team of people
