**Job Purpose**

An exciting opportunity for an Accounts Officer to join our growing team

This role will be responsible for managing the company’s receivables, ensuring timely and accurate collection of outstanding payments.

This role will also involve overseeing the daily allocation of customer receipts, reconciling customer accounts, and maintaining strong relationships with both customers and internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth and effective collections.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Manage the daily allocation of customer receipts and ensure accurate bank reconciliations
- Proactively follow up and ensure timely collection of receivables from customers
- Assist with the client onboarding process, including conducting credit checks, and maintaining client credit ratings
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve queries related to payments, discrepancies, or disputes
- Prepare and issue regular statements to customers, following up on unpaid invoices and managing escalation processes where necessary
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to facilitate timely payments and address any issues that may arise
- Support the Accounts Payable function when needed, assisting with payment runs.
- Assist in performing reconciliations for both Accounts Receivable and Payable, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
- Run weekly debtor reports and provide detailed updates to management on the status of outstanding receivables, collections progress, and any issues or risks
- Maintain and continuously improve reporting processes to enhance accuracy, timeliness, and clarity, ensuring that management receives actionable insights into accounts receivable performance
- Collaborate with the finance and operations teams to identify opportunities for process improvements across receivables and reporting workflows

**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**
- Bachelor’s Degree qualification and demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated experience in AR management or customer service role
- Demonstrated experience in data management or data entry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for reporting and reconciliation purposes
- Excellent analytical skills
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
