We are currently looking for an Accounts Officer to join our Finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 3-5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience who is seeking flexibility, autonomy and purpose-driven work. With flexible working arrangements and a collaborative environment, this role supports work-life balance while contributing to meaningful projects.

**Key responsibilities**
- Assist the Financial Controller and the Finance Business Partner in ensuring financial records are kept up to date with the latest transactions and changes.
- ** Accounts payable and receivable**: process and maintain accurate records of transactions, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- ** Bank reconciliations**: perform reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to maintain financial accuracy.
- ** Billing and invoicing**: generate and issue invoices, and support project teams with queries and adjustments.
- ** General ledger**: assist in maintaining and updating the general ledger.
- ** Audit**: support external audits and internal reviews.
- ** Compliance**: ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory obligations.
- ** Expense management**: Process and monitor company expenses and credit cards to ensure accurate documentation and approvals.
- ** System management**: utilise accounting software and tools (e.g., Xero & Excel) to enter, track and report on financial data.
- ** Administrative support**: provide general admin support to the finance team and assist with ad hoc tasks as needed.

**Key competencies and experience**
- 3+ years of experience in a bookkeeping, accounts or finance support role.
- Strong grasp of financial functions, including exposure to commercial financial systems and CRM software.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable and general accounting principles.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills functional level in other Microsoft packages.
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities.
- Experience in a professional services or consulting environment is highly regarded.
