**The role**

SunRice’s Sustainability commitments are across three core pillars: ‘Our Environment’, ‘Our Communities’ and ‘Our Nourishing Products’. Reporting to the Group Head of Sustainability, the newly created role of Social Sustainability Advisor will be responsible for implementing the social elements of the SunRice Sustainability Strategy and will be focussed on driving and maintaining the sustainable supply chain program, ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Australian Modern Slavery Act and delivering on SunRice’s commitment to respect human rights.

**Additional responsibilities include**:

- Design, develop and implement the Supplier Sustainability Program (SSP) in accordance with compliance requirements, best practice principles and industry expectations
- Provide targeted training to the business to support the business to identify labour rights risks in operations and supply chains and make informed decisions.
- Provide project management support for third-party social and ethical audits and certifications to ensure all key partners are supported to execute a successful audit.
- Engage with business units so that they understand their commitments against the Community Investment Strategy and communicate opportunities in alignment with the Strategy.
- Review and report on progress of business to identify progress against goals and objectives and opportunities for improvement and sharing insights.

**About you**

In addition, you will possess the following:

- Tertiary qualifications in human rights, legal, sustainability, international development or equivalent.
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in sustainability, with specific experience in responsible supply chain programs and expertise relating to Australia’s Modern Slavery Act.
