- The role
- The General Manager - Portfolio Governance & Capability is a fundamental role in providing strategic governance of enterprise transformation portfolio, including, agile enterprise planning processes and forecasting across the division. Ensuring alignment to enterprise standards and providing reporting to Group and AUSPAC Boards on project portfolio performance will be key responsibilities. The role also has accountability for the transformation functional chapters (business analysis, change management, project managers, scrum masters etc.) and building attractive career propositions for transformation professionals. Delivery of enterprise projects that aren’t led out of the business Value Streams is also in the accountability for this role.
- How will I help?
- You will be accountable for leading and developing project and change management capability and discipline, partnering with Change Delivery leads for execution across the different value streams.
- Responsibilities will also include:
- Strategic workforce planning, capability development and practice management for key transformation skill sets.-
- Provide strategic advice to the divisional leadership team (EMB) on portfolio health, outcomes and effectiveness.-
- Lead and embed a project delivery governance framework for AUSPAC transformation projects focused on outcome and benefit realisation and design and embed strategic and architectural design governance.-
- Partner with the Group EPMO and Heads of Change for each value stream to establish appropriate governance for transformation projects, reporting and resource requirements.-
- Build and maintain strong effective relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of projects.-
- Establish and embed a customer service mindset across the team, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement to customer service delivery.-
- Forward planning of project requirements and business resources to ensure availability of necessary skills and capability at the required time.-
- Attract, develop, and retain talent to support the delivery of initiatives, effectively managing resources in a matrixed reporting structure.- What do I need?
- To be successful, you will have extensive experience in Business Transformation and change delivery within a large complex organisation. You will also have:
- Exceptional project management and governance skills, in both traditional waterfall and scaled agile approaches.-
- Strong experience in program management execution.-
- Strong people leadership skills, enabling build of strong culture and high performance of project management professionals.-
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills, including the ability to influence without authority.-
