
Manager of Portfolio Governance

A large end user is actively seeking a Manager of Portfolio Governance. This is a senior role in the newly created Portfolio Management Office and is responsible for embedding a business-wide approach to portfolio and program governance.
The Manager, Portfolio Governance is also responsible for portfolio and program insights and analysis for presentation to key university governance forums; for key portfolio and program governance artefacts and relevant business process management.
The Manager, Portfolio Governance will work closely with the Portfolio Performance Lead to embed strong commercial and financial practices across the portfolio. Importantly the Manager, Portfolio Governance will build strong and productive relationships with program managers to create a collaborative program delivery community. This positive relationship is critical in enabling both an objective view of portfolio performance and building program delivery capability.
**Key responsibilities will include**:
- Support the development and management of the portfolio benefits model and investment prioritisation model
- Support business case development through providing independent analysis and advice on commercial and strategic aspects of proposals, including benefits realisation.
- Design and implement portfolio and program governance processes and their respective artefacts
- Gather, organise, and maintain all required program information for the creation of accurate and objective portfolio analysis
- Monitor performance of all projects and programs within the portfolio
- Provide accurate and objective portfolio governance analysis and reporting to the senior executive on a regular and as-needs basis to support effective executive decision-making
- Build a strategic program delivery community of practice to embed a consistent and high performing portfolio and program governance approach
- Create compelling presentation materials, to communicate insights with university leaders and other stakeholders
**Required qualifications and experience includes**:
- Portfolio/program/project management certification/qualification
- Demonstrated experience in strategic portfolio management office or transformation office operations including creating complex schedules with interdependencies and developing program/portfolio level risk and issue management plans
- Demonstrated experience in business process management
- Demonstrated experience providing business analysis and advice relating to strategy implementation and business improvement, including reporting and presentations to stakeholders and committees
- Demonstrated ability to work to tight time frames with conflicting deadlines, and to progress tasks to completion
- Demonstrated advanced written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, with proven capability in influencing and negotiation
This is a 3 year, fixed term contract role that offers accelerated superannuation on top of an attractive salary. The office is located in the Sydney CBD and is a less than 10-minute walk from nearest train station.
