ABOUT THE ROLE

The Finance Officer manages the organisation's fortnightly payroll processing and supervises the accounts function, while supports the accounting and financial activities of the organisation within a small Finance team. Reporting to the Financial Accountant, this a full time role has a base remuneration from $70,000 per annum, commensurate with skills & experience (SCHADS Level 3), plus super & salary packaging.

Responsibilities include:

- Manage & execute the fortnightly payroll processing and reporting for all ICLA staff, including overseeing timesheet submission
- Supervise the Accounts Assistant in executing accounts payable & receivable, receipt allocation & reconciliation, & invoicing
- Process NDIS claims, analyse and report to Financial Accountant on variances
- Act as an escalation point to resolve any issue with the above
- Preparing and submitting BAS lodgement
- Preparing periodic profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow reports for the Executive and Board
- Preparation of working papers in areas of payroll and NDIS claiming for annual Financial Statements and external audits
- Work with Financial Accountant on monthly reporting, including preparation of accounts and reports for the Head of Finance and Board
- Maintaining the integrity of financial systems, processes and accounts to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accuracy of information

ABOUT YOU

Essential Criteria
- Tertiary qualification in accounting
- 2 years' general Accounting experience
- 1 year payroll experience, including experience with Modern Awards (SCHADS 2010 highly desirable)
- Experience working with the NDIS claims is essential
- NDIS Worker Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Unrestricted right to work in Australia & current driver's license
- Intermediate skills in in MYOB and proficiency with MS Office 365, including Word, Excel & Outlook
- Sound knowledge of end-to-end Payroll processes for Award and rostered workforce
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Proven time management, organisational skills, and record meeting deadlines
- Process orientated, with high attention to detail and an analytical mindset
- Proactive, agile and solution focused
- Strong financial accuracy
- Team player
- High level of discretion and sensitivity in dealing with confidential matters

Desirable
- Previous experience working in a not for profit organisation
- Previous experience working with Salesforce or a similar client management system
- Experience with a HRMS platform
