**The Role**
Reporting to the Finance Manager - Financial Controls & Compliance, your main responsibility will be to assist in delivering the SOX compliance program by helping drive and complete the design and test of internal controls that ensures adequate business controls are in place and operating effectively for accurate financial reporting. You will work closely with key stakeholders as you educate and increase the knowledge and awareness of internal controls and critical compliance issues. You will also help to ensure transactions flowing through the News Corp Australia finance systems comply with News Corp finance policies.
**Responsibilities**
- Support the Finance Manager Financial Controls & Compliance in delivering the SOX compliance program
- Perform review of in scope cycles, including documenting processes (if necessary), walking through processes and testing
- Ensure the testing performed is clearly documented
- Coordinating / testing the remediation of deficiencies
- Build relationships with process owners, providing proactive support
- Educate and train the business on SOX compliance during the testing if necessary.
- Ensure regular policy review, updates, and ownership and administer the News’ intranet for policies and forms
- Any other ad-hoc tasks / projects
**Who are you?**
- 3+ years of experience in Internal Control and Financial Audit (in-house internal control/finance compliance role and/or Big 4 audit)
- Previous experience for a global business or auditing clients operating under SOX environment is highly preferred
- Good communications skills - both written and verbal
- Ability to engage stakeholders and build meaningful relationships
- Knowledge of JDE and Concur Expense highly regarded
- Sound Microsoft Excel knowledge
- Self-motivated, diligent and committed to quality
