**About the role**:
The Renewable Energy Specialist is a pivotal role in driving Origin’s success in the energy industry. This role will identify and develop opportunities in emerging technologies for utility generation and storage, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to facilitate the energy sector's transition. By strategically evaluating and integrating new technologies, the Renewable Energy Specialist actively shapes Origin's trajectory in this ever-evolving field.

This role will be pivotal in driving innovation and strategic decision-making at Origin, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of the renewable energy sector.
- Conducting research and analysis on emerging generation and storage technologies, evaluating their technical and economic performance
- Collaborating with industry, research institutions, and start-up manufacturers to stay updated on the latest developments and trends
- Developing an evaluation framework to assess the viability and potential of new technologies
- Analysing the competitive landscape and providing recommendations on investment decisions, including potential partnerships or acquisitions
- Developing business cases, supporting project workstreams, and contributing to risk identification and control
- Staying informed about government incentives, policies, and regulations affecting emerging renewable and storage technologies

**What will you bring?**
- Relevant engineering degree paired with a minimum of +3 years of experience in the energy sector
- Strong grasp of risk management, with the ability to assess and mitigate risks effectively
- Thirst for innovation, constantly seeking out emerging technologies and trends in renewable and battery energy
- Strong stakeholder and customer relationship skills, able to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
- Demonstrated experience in technology assessment, selection, and concept design, with an understanding of both commercial and technical risk
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences
