The Child Wellbeing and Mental Health Services focus on the delivery of student support services including support for student in the areas of disability, mental health and wellbeing, complex needs, as well as behaviour and attendance.
The key outcomes/products of the CW&MHS are: closer alignment and coordination of psychological and child Protection services delivered to schools, improved response to emerging and urgent needs with local solutions, developed in collaboration with local wellbeing teams and identification and understanding of best practice approaches to services delivery.
**About the role**
The Assistant Project/Policy Officer undertakes a range of project and/or policy research to provide high level support to the development and delivery of projects. The CW&MHS team is recruiting people who have policy and/or project management experience and interest.
The role:
- Supports multiple projects across the Unit concurrently
- Has a focus on data projects to better understand service delivery and student needs
- Supports operational analysis and reporting for the Unit’s day to day functions

**About you**
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with a team
- Ability to manage self and demonstrate an agile approach to work, in an environment of competing priorities
- Recent experience and understanding of child protection and mental health services context
- Knowledge and capability in working with datasets including use of programs such as PowerBI and excel
**Essential requirements of the role**
- Qualifications in a relevant discipline, or demonstrated knowledge and/or experience
- A Working with Children Check is an essential requirement for this role. The role has been identified as requiring a check in keeping with the Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012
**Key knowledge and experience**
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
