**Policy and Project Officer - Business and Human Rights**
**Location - Sydney Metro - Parramatta with flexible working arrangements**

**Salary - Grade 7/8 ($ 110,266 up to $ 122,058**plus employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading)**
**Your role**
The Office of the Anti-Slavery Commissioner (OASC) assists the NSW Anti-slavery Commissioner to monitor the effectiveness of legislation and policies to combat and address modern slavery; identify and provide assistance and support to victims of modern slavery; make recommendations and provide information, advice, education and training to prevent and provide remedy for instances of modern slavery; raise community awareness of modern slavery; monitor reporting concerning risks of modern slavery in public procurement; and collaborate with business, civil society and the research sector.
**Primary purpose of the role**
The Project Officer - Business and Human Rights performs project management and support activities to contribute to the development and delivery of a range of projects to support the OASC.This role also provides procurement and/or business and human rights expertise, including research skills and analytical support services, to inform procurement policy decision-making and strategy relating to modern slavery.
**What you’ll do**
- Work with procurement and business stakeholders to develop and implement innovative procurement policy and strategies to combat modern slavery
- Communicate with key stakeholders and coordinate working groups, committees and consultations to facilitate exchange of information and support project completion in line with project plans
- Provide training to key stakeholders on managing modern slavery risks in procurement and business activities
- Provide a range of project management and support services, including preparation of reports and briefs, maintaining project documentation and implementing and monitoring project plans, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope, in line with established agency project management methodology
- Prepare and maintain project documentation for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes to ensure accessibility of quality information and contribute to the achievement of project outcomes
- Source, collate and compile data and information to identify emerging issues and track and report on project progress against established milestones and deliverables
- Undertake research and analysis, identifying trends and preparing project briefs, to support informed decision-making and planning
- Work effectively with team members and stakeholders and contribute to the establishment of a professional, respectful, empathetic, and problem-solving team culture
- Delivering a range of project management and support services, given tight deadlines, limited resources and the need to manage competing priorities
**What we’re looking for**
- Demonstrated experience performing project management and support activities in the field of business and human rights, procurement, modern slavery and/or working with vulnerable populations
- Stakeholder engagement experience, including coordinating working groups and preparing agendas, PowerPoint presentations and minutes
- Researching, drafting, writing and/or editorial experience, preferably across different professional contexts
**Essential requirements**
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as human rights, public policy, economics, politics, social work, law, psychology, sociology or criminology, or equivalent level experience.
