Product Application Specialist for Industrial Power

**WHAT WE'RE AFTER**

The position is based in Dandenong South, Victoria, Australia.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Make recommendations for drive designs and industrial belt constructions to Gates customers in Australia and New Zealand
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of Gates PT product range, drive design techniques, standards and preventive maintenance
- Assist with the issuing and writing of technical material for customers and GAPL associates as well as distribution of Gates design software
- Handles all the quality issues for industrial power transmission
- Provides quotations and product information to internal and external customers on made to order and non-standard items
- Assists in maintaining product information within Gates computer systems
- Identifies recommends and implements process and systems improvements
- Continually analyses and implements improvements to job functions and business processes that result in sustained market leadership.
- Prepares product training modules and other product presentations for customers and GAPL staff as required.
- Complies with all Gates policies, including Occupational Health and Safety
- Other duties and responsibilities as requested

**YOUR CAPABILITIES**:

- Ability to influence high level engagement and relationship building
- An excellent ability to listen, understand and deliver on internal/external stakeholder needs and requirements
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office software package essential
- Experience in using SAP is an advantage
- Presentation and excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and stay driven & focused

**TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE ROLE, you must have**:

- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent of at least 5 years of experience in the industry in a similar capacity to this position is required.
- Knowledge of Industrial Power Transmission Industry an advantage
- Must have strong mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge and implementation of selling techniques.
- Knowledge of safety legislation and contemporary practice
- Unrestricted Permanent Work Right Status in Australia
