**The Opportunity**
This role will provide strategic support to the Reform and Reconciliation section to drive a number of key initiatives the team is responsible for, including the development of a strategy to drive, embed and evaluate PR3 (Closing the Gap, Priority Reform 3) across the Commonwealth Public Service.
As well as take a lead project management role to ensure the success of a number of complex interdependent projects (for example implementation of the allyship toolkit, implementation of the PR3 monitoring and evaluation framework), while providing the strategic support to the Indigenous Champions Network (ICN), including the identification and mitigation of risks associated with these projects, along with:
- demonstrating strong leadership to achieve branch outcomes and the NIAA's broader strategic directions
- developing productive working relationships with stakeholders both internal and external (e.g. APSC) to work in partnership to progress key initiatives such as evaluating and providing strategic guidance around the development of the Commonwealth Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Workforce Strategy (CATSIWS)
- championing the principles of the Agency’s transformation journey - to enhance our work of partnership in place, influence across Government and ensure our investments support real change in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- contribute to a culture that aligns with NIAA values and is dedicated to achieving quality program outcomes
- establish and maintain key strategic internal and external stakeholder relationships to achieve shared outcomes and goals
- influence and manage outcomes and team performance including through modelling positive behaviours and promoting a climate of change and continuous improvement
- well-developed writing and analytical skills including the ability to communicate through a variety of written forms including research papers, internal briefings and agenda papers
- capacity to develop an understanding of the complex social policy issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and a strong commitment to ongoing cultural capability development
- demonstrate an understanding and interest in further developing expertise in CTG Priority Reforms.

This position is required to liaise with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and service providers. You will require cultural competency, including:

- demonstrated capability and commitment to continue to develop cultural competency.
