**Job Description**:
As the Head of Data Governance, you will lead the Enterprise Data Governance team which sits within the finance business unit. You will work across the business with several stakeholders to ensure that data is treated as an enterprise asset and that data risk is adequately managed in accordance with the Data Governance Policy, including embedding data management policies and standards into business as usual.

In this role you will:

- Lead the development and management of TAL’s data governance capabilities to meet the needs of TAL’s business operations ensuring that compliance is achieved against TAL’s Data Governance Policy
- Lead the uplift of TAL’s Metadata Management Business Capability to ensure that TAL’s business and technical data definitions are captured and managed according to standards and best practices, and are made available for appropriate use by responsible users
- Lead TAL’s Enterprise Data Quality function, working with EDOs, their delegates and Data Stewards to develop and maintain data quality processes relating to TAL’s data environment
- Ensure TAL’s data quality is defined, measured, improved, and controlled to meet the needs of the business for all critical data to support TAL’s business operations, and ensure data risk is within TAL’s Data Governance Policy data risk appetite
- Lead the development and implementation of TALs Master and Reference Data Management business capability to ensure that TAL’s commonly shared data is managed according to standards and best practices by responsible Data Stewards and Data Custodians and are made available for appropriate users across the business
- Collaborate with Enterprise Cyber Security to ensure that access to data and information is in accordance with TAL’s Data Management Policy

**Qualifications**:

- A tertiary qualification
- Experience working within financial services
- Experience in audit/assurance related disciplines is desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
- Strong business acumen
- Takes initiative and will seek to contribute to the risk culture and shared vision of TAL
