**About The role**

A true leadership opportunity as part of our Digital Workplace team. With a brain for strategy and policy, you will provide guidance across our Organisation and oversee the design and maintenance of a principle-based data governance model, accommodating an incredibly diverse data management system.

The Information Management team provides leadership and governance to units across DCS to ensure information is managed appropriately and responsibly using endorsed tools.

Working within the Information Management team, and reporting to the Information Governance Manager, this role will coordinate implementation of the DCS Information and Data Governance Framework. To do this, you will liaise with specialists from other information disciplines, such as privacy, information security, records management, and enterprise architecture.

You will work with data teams across all parts of the business to ensure consistency with DCS direction. You will also negotiate with corporate process owners, such as ICT procurement and project management, to incorporate information and data governance requirements into their processes.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

- Proven ability to provide strategic datagovernance advice and guidance to a diverse client base
- Ability to negotiate with a range of stakeholders
- Ability to co-ordinate and facilitatedelivery of data management projects
- Demonstrated experience in implementing data management principles

You will have strong problem-solving and analytical skills and be able to work within a complex environment. You will also have strong skills in working within and across teams, to foster collaboration and delivery on agreed objectives.

**Your key accountabilities will include**:

- Manage the design, maintenance, and implementation of a principles-based data governance model to ensure compliance with the Organisation’s Information and Data Governance Framework, model, policies, standards, and guidelines in line with data management practices and ethical principles
- Lead the development and implementation of standard dataset procedures, data governance tools and processes in conjunction with business owners and data custodians to accommodate the diverse requirements across the Organisation and build stakeholder confidence
- Develop organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for data management, to govern appropriate and ethical use of data and define an overall strategy of master data management that supports the development and secure operation of information and digital services
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to drive effective and consistent information and data governance practices and support uplift in data capability, maturity and quality across the organisation
- Lead the process to improve data practice, capability, and maturity among data custodians and stewards to support the delivery of high-quality, effective, trusted, and compliant data
- Oversee the proactive release of data to improve open and shared data practices in line with NSW government data-sharing guidelines and to support open government and digital transformation initiatives
