**This opportunity**
As a Data Governance Lead in the newly established Data and Analytics Centre of Excellence (CoE), you will support the Head of Data Governance and Enablement to establish a company-wide data governance capability to establish uniform data governance standards and identifies the shared responsibilities for assuring the integrity of the data and that it efficiently and effectively serves the needs of your organisation.
You will partner with cross-functional and technical teams across the company to achieve data governance goals. This will include partnering closely with other functions in the CoE (Data Science, Data Visualisation, Data Engineering and Analytics Delivery & Business Partnering) as well as team members from various business units, IT, and Legal / Compliance teams. As the CoE serves all parts of TPG Telecom, your work may cover all business units, products, and customer segments.
**Responsibilities**
- Support Head of Data Governance and Enablement to lead company-wide data governance - including data quality and data hygiene monitoring, enforcement, and remediation - to ensure a reliable, accurate, scalable, compliant, and consumable single source of truth.
- Align our data governance with enterprise governance, business strategy, and the organizational value streams to ensure the program delivers measurable business value.
- Understand our current data governance capabilities and build out a future state that is right-sized and relevant.
- Define data governance accountability, and responsibility. Establish and champion data governance best practices, Define and formalise data ownership and stewardship (as well as the role IT/data management will play as data custodians).
- Ensure data governance is supported by an operating model that effectively manages change and communication and fosters a culture of data excellence.
- Design and define the data governance operating model (oversight model definition, communication plan, internal marketing, formulate change management plan technology options for supporting data governance and its administration).
- Define and formalise the data governance program (build modules, incorporate into learning hub).
- Own and be accountable for a portfolio of ongoing and project-based work.
- Develop and build partnerships with all other teams in the CoE (Data Science, Data / ML Engineering, Data Visualisation, and Analytics Delivery & Business Partnering).
- Develop and build partnerships with stakeholders across the business, including IT, Legal / Compliance, and Commercial teams.
- Support an innovative and collaborative culture within your team and the Data and Analytics CoE.
**Knowledge and experience**
- University degree in a quantitative discipline or equivalent experience
- Relevant experience in data governance, compliance, legal, privacy, information security, or related area
- Track record of leading large scale, high-impact, cross-functional projects from ideation to strategy and implementation.
- Experience working with data governance, privacy and security regulations and technologies. Ability to compare available and emerging technologies in the data governance and privacy space and make recommendations to senior members of the team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, required to communicate complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences, including business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Ability to manage and deliver multiple end-to-end projects and ongoing work simultaneously with autonomy.
- Experience developing relationships and partnering with multiple business and technical stakeholders.
- Excellent business acumen and judgment.
- A “solutions mindset” of natural curiosity and a strong motivation to solve problems, no matter how complicated or ambiguous they might be.
- Comfort with ambiguity, a fast-paced environment, and shifting priorities.
- Above all else, a “can-do” attitude is the most important qualification
