**About the Role**:
We are seeking a **reliable and compassionate Support Worker** to assist one of our participants with **community access, appointments, and daily outings**. This role involves **transporting the participant to and from school, allied health appointments, the mosque for prayer**, and **engaging in meaningful activities outside the home**.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Transport the participant to school, allied health appointments, and community activities
- Support the participant during outings to places like the mosque, parks, or social events
- Spend quality time with the participant outside the home, encouraging engagement and independence
- Assist in finding and facilitating appropriate activities based on the participant’s interests
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with the participant and their family in **both English and Somali**:

- Follow care plans and report any changes or concerns in the participant’s wellbeing
- Ensure the participant's safety and comfort during transport and outings

**Requirements**:

- Fluency in **both English and Somali** (this is **mandatory**)
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Empathy, patience, and a person-centred approach to support
- Availability for **morning and daytime shifts**, including school drop-offs and pickups
- Current **First Aid and CPR certification** (or willingness to obtain)
- **NDIS Worker Screening Check** and **Working with Children Check** (or ability to obtain)

**Desirable**:

- Previous experience in community access, transport, or disability support
- Certificate III in Individual Support or a related qualification
- Experience supporting individuals with communication needs or cultural considerations

Pay: $23.92 - $48.89 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 16 per week

- Weekend availability

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

- 75% (preferred)
