Our advice and services cover financial management, the budget process, procurement, travel, property & protective security, and information technology._
- _The Property and Protective Security Branch is responsible for enhancing the department’s business capability through the effective management of the department’s property portfolio, property enabling functions, protective security, emergency management, as well as a range of corporate site services and commercial contracts nationally._
**Who we are**
The Finance Division supports the department to be efficient, effective, and financially sustainable through our business partnerships, the Finance Service Charter and our specialist centres of excellence. The division provides financial and management advice and support to the department, the offices of the minister and assistant ministers and to industry stakeholders. The division delivers on business objectives through the provision of high-quality customer service, advice and support and a nationally consistent approach to business, with consideration to the government’s tight fiscal environment, its significant reform agenda and the department’s imperative to maintain financial sustainability.
The Property and Protective Security Branch leads the department’s:
- Business continuity, emergency management and incident management arrangements, including ensuring legislative compliance.
- Physical security capabilities and compliance reporting, as well as firearms governance and management.
- Security capabilities and compliance reporting for security governance and physical security.
- Strategic approach to property acquisition, management, maintenance, and disposal to drive sustainable commercial outcomes that contribute to long term asset planning and governance, while ensuring to safety and compliance.
- Strategic approach to manage, monitor, and report on the efficient and effective use of property.
- Related resources, with a focus on minimising waste and enabling sustainable outcomes while driving Net Zero targets.
**The Job**
As a Property Officer (Leasing) you will be supporting the leasing team in planning and managing the lease portfolio including the following key duties:
- Deliver a range of property related outcomes in accordance with relevant legislation, policy and procedures.
- Provide advice on real property management in the DCCEEW environment.
- Resolve real property issues using expertise and identifying alternative courses of action.
- Engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
- Interpret and comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and actively participate in teamwork and group activities.
- Produce briefs, reports and other correspondence.
- Maintain/draft policy and procedures associated with DCCEEW property matters.

**Knowledge and experience**
- Manage the delivery of these services at a range of properties.
- Have the ability to develop, maintain and nurture a range of internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Under broad direction, perform and achieve moderately complex work within an integrated workforce.
- Will provide policy advice in relation to fleet and facilities management.
**Skills and capabilities**
- Use of Microsoft office suite and databases.
- Ability to work independently, complete tasks and monitor workflow.
- Ability to communicate with influence.
- Problem solving skills.
**Eligibility and other requirements**
**Citizenship** - To be eligible for employment with the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water you must be an Australian citizen.
**Security Clearance** - This position requires a Baseline Vetting security clearance. You will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
