**About the role**:
The Consultant is responsible for assisting the delivery of core functions including early intervention, injury management, managing employee incapacity, workplace rehabilitation and wellbeing.
The role plays a vital part in reducing workplace risk and injury by providing expert technical support, strategic guidance and advice to internal and external stakeholders to support staff recovery and return to work.

**Skills & Knowledge required for the role**
- Assist delivering the departments early intervention framework to minimise the impact and duration of emerging symptoms of injury or illness with the aim to reduce workplace risk and employee absenteeism.
- Take a proactive approach in contacting medical practitioners to influence, negotiate and facilitate return to work
- Develop and manage relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to facilitate a partnership approach.
- Assist delivering the departments employee wellbeing and support program to ensure employees have access to the right support at the right time.
**Qualifications / Specialist Expertise**
**Qualifications**
- A tertiary qualification in an allied health background is highly desirable.
**Specialist Expertise**
- Knowledge and understanding of the _Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004_ (Vic) and the _Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013_ (Vic).
- Extensive experience in managing complex injury management cases.
